What's New

Newsflash The Rookie Glider competition scheduled for Sunday 16th June has been postponed until Sunday 23rd June, when another attempt will be made. This is due to unsuitable weather forecast and sickness amongst some of those who had planned to attend. The 16th will now be a regular flying day.

Electric comp was held on Sunday 19th May - Congratulation to Jim Howarth for winning the trophy. Full results on the comps page, pictures in the gallery.

For those attending Northmpton Club's warbird and BBQ meeting on 8th June are asked to inform Bob Nicholson ( as food is being provided but bring your own drink.

New items added to "For Sale" page

Northampton MAC have kindly invited NVA members to attend their warbirds meeting inc. BBQ on Saturday 8th June. Food and cooking will be provided, but bring your own drink and of course, a warbird if you have one. (NN10 0SU will get you close)

12th April: The call for help was met by a gallant team who worked hard to get the driveway fixed. Please drive carefully over the new surface (no wheelies dough-nuts etc.) The main gate has now been unlocked. (pictures will appear in the gallery shortly). The pits area is still very soggy but the strip is usable.

10 April: A team has been working hard on the driveway and has managed to fix about a third of it -  Hopefully they will be able to finish it on the morning of Friday 12th April but they need help. Please come if you can, with a shovel if possible - they also need one more soft-tyred wheelbarrow. (see pictures in the gallery)

There will be a working party on Wednesday morning of 10th April to make a start on fixing the problem with the track up to the summer carpark. If you can help, please come armed with a shovel and/or a wheel barrow

9th April: Summer car park is closed (the gate will be locked and the side gate opened untill the track to the car park is fixed).

24 March 24:  "Spitty" info added see RH column

21 Feb 24: First 2024 pictures added to the gallery - also note that from 18th Feb Yardley Road is blocked at the Yardley Hastings end and will be so for 4 weeks. A new gas main is being installed.

The 2023 AGM was held on Wednesday 6th Dec with 18 of our 60 members in attendance. Pictures are in the gallery. and full competition results are available on the competition page.

Please note that your new (very long) CAA opertor number must be displayed on all models but the CAA has confirmed that this new number will NOT be changed every year. The CAA regrets that this number is so long but it is regulated by an EU directive that the UK (DoT) agreed adopt since the UK formally left the EU. (if it is any consolation, the guy from the CAA also thinks the length of the number is daft)

- By now all members should have received their CAA operator ID number. No model should take to the air without this number on the aircraft is accordance with the CAA's requirements. These can be found here

Only those that have indicated that they would like to be on our mailing list will receive update e-mails from NVA - contact the webmaster if you have any questions.

The 2024 membership form can be downloaded here.

* No member (fixed wing or helicopter) should fly unsupervised unless they hold at least a BMFA "A" certificate . Members wishing to take the relevant test should contact Andy Hibbert or Dave Harbour.
